Good reports from the guide crew on the Spokane River lately. We love fall on the hometown river. BWO's, some October caddis, chubby chernobyls, double nymph (or euro rigs), streamers, and soft hackles all potential... just whatever your preference is! The bigger fish have been on the prowl lately too. Flows are still low so getting around is easy. Great time to get out and enjoy the home water in fall colors.

Call us to book a fall float and experience some of the best fishing of the year! We go until the snow flies!

  • The Fishing

Fall has been good on the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River. Mid day you can usually find some risers looking for bwo or midge emergers. An October caddis, or fall caddis should find some fish too. Nymphing and streamers of course any day of the year. Fish will be podded up in the deeper water from here on out.

  • The Fishing

The St. Joe River continues to be good fall fishing action. I was able to get out there yesterday (Thursday) for a little bit with my friend Dave. Mornings are a big chilly so it will be a slower start and probably a nymph game, but mid day and afternoon you should have some rising fish. There are a few October caddis still out and fish will eat them, but things are switching to a small bug game. Definitely pack your bwo and midge emergers, having a variety can help as once you hook a fish or two (or get a few drifts in) they can get wise to your pattern you will need to mix it up. 6x tippet can help your odds too. Streamers and of course nymphing will find fish. Small perdigons, midge pupa, spanish bullets, caddis pupa all good ideas. You can of course throw a pat's rubber leg and worm any day of the year and find fish.

  • The Fishing

While the North Fork of the Clearwater / Kelly Creek will probably have some good mid day opportunities (similar to the St. Joe report) the window of opportunity and good fishing here will be getting narrower / wind down pretty soon.

  • Steelhead Rivers

  • The Fishing

Grande Ronde / Snake River - the lower Grande Ronde and Snake River have been doing well. More numbers of fish are being caught in this area versus upriver. I (Sean) was above Boggan's on Wednesday and found a couple fish. Kenyon and the crew have been consistently finding fish on guide trips. It has been more of nymph game this year, but the swining has picked up lately. Friends that have been fishing the Shumaker stretch have been overall slower reports, but still catching some fish here and there. Some rain and bumps in flow levels would really help get some more fish flushed into the system.

Clearwater River - decent reports from the CW lately. Some nice size steelies have been caught lately. Swinging will find the occasional fish, nymphing will find more.
