The Echo Carbon XL is a great lightweight all around performer. A smooth medium action rod that will lay down a small dry just as well as a foam hopper. If you are new to casting you will find the Carbon XL has an easy loading tip section and plenty of power in the mid to help achieve more distance when duty calls. For a sub $200 range rod the Echo Carbon XL one is pretty tough to beat.
