OPST Commando Heads have become the go-to choice for anglers looking to maximize their short spey, switch, or single-hand rod for spey casting techniques. Developed around the sustained anchor system by Jerry French and Ed Ward, Commando heads allow the caster the ultimate control in situations where you may be limited on room, casting bulky flies, or needing extra punch through the wind. Don't let Commando Heads fool you though, these are not a one-trick pony kinda line, they are excellent for overhead casting, nymphing, underhand methods, roll casting, and can be used on single or two-handed rods. They are the ultimate in versatility. Oh did we mention they aren't just for steelhead, they are great for trout and bass as well.
The OPST Commando Heads are designed to be attached to a running line (OPST Lazar Line is excellent) and either a sink-tip or a polyleader fixed to the front end. Mono leaders are ideal for nymphing tactics.
If you have ever struggled with learning how to spey cast, have a short spey, or just want to maximize a single hander for swinging tactics the Commando Head brings the fun factor up to a solid 10.
Please note: The end with the line ID, which is also the fat end, is the FRONT END
