The Echo Ion fly reel is a workhorse from trout to steelhead. The Ion fly reel features a large arbor design and solid disc drag proven to standup to many days of abuse by our guide staff. While the Echo Ion is mainly a freshwater reel, it can be used a little bit in the saltwater with a little extra maintenance and cleaning. While not the lightest in class the Ion still balances many single hand rods just great and has plenty of capacity / weight to work very well with switch and spey rods. If you are looking to not break the bank or need a great back-up reel the Echo Ion has done a great job for us at it's price point.
