The next best thing to catching fish... is tying flies for catching fish. Fly tying can mean many different things for people. For some it is a way to past time until the next fishing trip, or restock the boxes, others it's a way to bring out their creative, artistic side . Whichever reason you tie flies, we have fly tying classes to help you become a better tier.

Fly Tying Level One

Learn the basics in two nights. From material selection and techniques, we cover basic flies that will give you a solid foundation for many other patterns. Just enough information to not be overwhelming and make you a ready to tie on your own.

  • Cost - $50.00
  • Time - 6:00 to 8:00 each night. Two nights total.
  • Date - December 1 & 2, 2015
  • Date - January 5 & 6, 2016
  • Date - February 2 & 3, 2016
  • Date - March 1 & 2, 2016

Fly Tying Level Two

Move beyond the basics with more advanced flies and techniques. Flies covered will involve more steps and more complicated techniques. This class also works more on proportion control to give your flies a more finished look.

  • Cost - $50.00
  • Time - 6:00 to 8:00 each night. Two nights total.
  • Date - January 19 & 20, 2016
  • Date - February 16 & 17, 2016

Tube Fly Tying

Tube flies offer anglers a unique way to attach hooks of their choice or create flies that can be "stacked" to beef up their profile. They have caught on in popularity whether it is steelhead or trout. We include a FREE tube fly adaptor for your vise with the class!

Warmwater Fly Tying

If you didn't know Dave at the shop is a warmwater FANATIC... well then you haven't met Dave yet. Dave is one of the most talented warmwater anglers in the West. His flies are also some of the fishiest in the West. You want to learn how to tie bass, musky / pike flies better AND become a better warmwater angler? Then this class is a MUST.
