You don't think of an urban fishery having large, healthy rainbow trout. Most often when you hear the word "urban" you think gritty, dirty, or other non-picturesque thoughts. I think the opposite is true for our home water the Spokane River. This weeks photo of the week from Mike Visintainer showcases a beautiful, wild redband trout that could rival many other world class fishery rainbows. Yet this one was caught maybe ten minutes from the shop. While the Spokane River doesn't have huge populations of trout compared to other fisheries, it does hold some nice ones. The fact that you can catch a quality fish like that and be home within minutes is a win-win in my book.
