November Fishing News

A bit of solitude and a few trout

Fall is quickly passing by and for those that were able to enjoy it so far, you know that fishing has been good. October wrapped up with stunning colors and great fishing as seen in the above photo of Wayne on the NF Coeur d'Alene River. A few folks are still hitting the cutthroat streams although you will more than likely have them to yourself as of late. I'm thinking of one last St. Joe trip before the snow flies and fish go into their winter doldrum state.

All of us at the shop have been enjoying the heck out of the Spokane River. Such a strong fishery during the months of September, October and well into the November. While the bwo fishing has been very spotty this fall, not sure why, the nymphing has been great and the streamer bite started to pick up as well. Make sure to check out the article from the shop outing last Sunday below.

The steelhead anglers have been mostly singing the blues this season, but the guide crew has been pretty consistent. They said they had a couple days this year that threw them for a loop, but on average are finding 1-4 fish per day and yes some on the swing. They know the water very well to say the least and work very hard to get folks into fish!

Come see us for all of your fly tying needs this winter with one of the largest selections in the region of the LATEST materials and tools!
