Quality food and service.
Jen and I recently went down to chase a few bass in the summer heat and visit our good friend and guide Travis De Boer's new Anatone Trading Post & Cafe. Travis and his wife Julie recently acquired the cafe on the west edge of Anatone. For those that don't steelhead, Anatone sits atop a ridge en route to the Grande Ronde river, an anglers paradise. The Grande Ronde is a noteworthy steelhead fishery and a pretty good smallmouth bass fishery during the summer.
The Anatone Cafe once used to be the Blue Ridge Cafe, or something similar to that name, and while I'm guilty of not patronizing the cafe under the former ownership in my defense it had been closed for quite some time. Under Travis and Julie's ownership now the cafe has been revitalized and turning out some pretty awesome food. Currently the cafe is open 7am to 7pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We swung by in the morning and in the late afternoon and both times folks were flowing through taking a break from the heat and enjoying a quality meal.
If you are headed to the Grande Ronde, in particular the Shumaker the upper towards Oregon you owe it to yourself to stop in and grab a bite to eat. You won't regret it!
